The Surfrider Foundation’s biggest strength is our grassroots, community based chapters and their ability to act as local activists for the protection of the coast. In order to strengthen and build on these core competencies, the organization must continually expand our chapter network’s volunteer base. There are many levels of volunteer activities to suit your taste. Whether you are a first time volunteer or an old pro, don’t be shy about asking questions of our chapter members. Everyone has to start on some level and we are grateful that you are taking the first step. Attend a local chapter meeting and ask about volunteer opportunities. Remember that the Surfrider Foundation is only as effective as you are, our volunteers. We don’t exist without you!
Whatever your reason for connecting with the ocean, make that connection a commitment by volunteering your time with the Surfrider Foundation. It’s a great place to meet and network with fun people! We always welcome volunteers of all ages to participate in this worthwhile cause.
Our General Chapter meetings are also another way to get involved and see what we are up to. They are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month from 5:30-7:00pm. See our Monthly Calendar on the Home Page for more information.
